Ragnheiður I. Þórarinsdóttir, Rector of the Agricultural University of Iceland, and Bára Huld Beck, Communications Officer for Peatland LIFEline, presented the project at the LIFE 2026 annual meeting last Thursday, 28 May, at the Nordic House.

It was revealed at the meeting that Icelandic parties have been allocated ISK 5.5 billion from the European Union's environmental and climate programme, LIFE, since 2021. At the annual meeting, representatives from four projects presented their work and experience with the programme, including Mýralíf. A total of 10 projects have received funding since 2021.

In her presentation, Ragnheiður broadly discussed the application process, the objectives of Peatland LIFEline, and what lies ahead. Bára Huld covered the project's promotional activities and the exciting events that Peatland LIFEline will participate in and carry out during the year. These include the Hvanneyri Festival, which will take place on 8 August, and a travelling exhibition that the project will host on Culture Night later in August.
